Assam TET 2019: New Guidelines Announced: The Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2019 will be held on November 10 next in 33 districts. This time candidates have to sign their answer scripts. Otherwise, they will be considered as absentees.

Assam TET 2019: New Guidelines Announced

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the state Education department held at the office of the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA). Apart from this several other crucial guidelines have been formulated by the concerned authorities.

As per the decision in the meeting, the examination for the lower primary will start at 8:30 am while the upper primary examination will begin at 12:30 pm.

The deputy commissioners, sub-divisional officers (civil) and the respective police stations of the districts will take care of the security of the examination centers.

This is the first TET examination to be held in the state after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power.

The government has taken all possible measures to ensure that the examination is held in a free and fair manner leaving no scope for any controversy.

Assam TET 2019 will be held after a gap of seven years. The last time TET examination was held in 2012 during the erstwhile Congress government.

The previous examination was held in a systematic, free and fair manner. Thousands of educated unemployed youths of the State were recruited as teachers thereafter.

At present there are 17,292 posts are lying vacant across the State.

Among these, 10,137 are in the lower primary level and 7,155 posts are lying vacant in the upper primary level.

The last date to apply for Assam TET 2019 for physically challenged candidates has been extended. Candidates can apply until September 27, 2019.

The result of this examination will be valid for seven years from the date of the announcement. Therefore all candidates who cleared TET last time and their certificates have expired, will have to appear in the examination again.

Assam TET 2019: New Guidelines Announced


In continuation of the earlier Advertisement No. SSA/Esstt/Gen-Corres/TET/470/2011/9099 dated 30.08.2019, it is for the general information of all concerned that the following modifications have been made:

1. The period of submission of the on-line application of TET, Assam 2019 (Lower Primary and Upper Primary) only for the Physically Challenged candidates has been extended and such online applications will be received from 19th September 2019 to 27th September 2019. Physically Challenged candidates who had applied earlier may also edit their Application Form with the help of their Application Number and Password within the above mentioned period.

2. For preliminary scrutiny before the issue of Admit Card for the Candidates who had submitted an online application as * pursuing professional course (B.Ed/D.El.Ed) will have to mandatorily upload the following details from 19th September 2019 to 27th September 2019. They have to upload/update their Application Form with the help of their Application Number and Password within the above mentioned period.
a. Date of Admission in professional course ( B.Ed/D.El.Ed)
b. Name of Institution where pursuing the professional course ( B.Ed/D.El.Ed)
c. Mode of professional course( B.Ed/D.El.Ed) : Regular or ODL
d. Image of self-attested Admission receipt with the seal of the Institution where pursuing the professional course ( B.Ed/D.El.Ed)

Note- * Pursuing professional Course means all those candidates who have submitted the application even though they have not acquired the B.Ed/D.El.Ed qualification. Candidates who do not upload the above information/documents within the stipulated period will be summarily rejected and their fee shall be refunded in due course.

3. Date of examination of Teacher Eligibility Test ( TET), Assam 2019 (Lower Primary and Upper Primary) has been rescheduled on 10th November 2019.

4. For recruitment in Government jobs, the upper age limit will be applicable following the prevailing Act/Rules, at the time of recruitment.

5. In case of detection of submission of false information/false documents by any candidate, his/ her candidature, qualification in TET will be considered null and void (even after issuing of TET Certificate) without assigning any reason thereof.
